About me and my beloved brand Oh. What A Day: “I love to mix things up and keep myself on my toes. I enjoy to travel and more important than anything else, I try to avoid a daily routine as much as possible. This is probably why I decided in the early stages of my career that there is nothing better in the world for me, than working as a freelance photographer. Since then I have worked my way through numerous countries, different cultures and various religions. Whether it’s a traditional wedding in the Austrian Alps, a celebrity wedding in the Parliament of Westminster, or an Indian ceremony in Tuscany, I love to see them all! Over the last nine years, I had the honour to witness the exchange of 154 rings. I was able to celebrate with 77 couples and I worked through a countless number of images, to create the perfect gallery for each and every client.
I learnt from every opportunity and every single job opened a door to yet another new world. I am absolutely obsessed with the possibilities that lay ahead and I can´t wait to get into new adventures.”
ABOUT
OH. WHAT A DAY
Oh. What A Day was founded 2011 by Doris Himmelbauer. Doris is a multi-disciplined photographer, currently based in Vienna. After several years of professional practice in Linz she started her MA in Fine Art Photography at Kingston University London, where she graduated in 2015. With the years of living and working in London Doris began documenting weddings not just locally, but all over Europe. With a rather minimalistic approach, she captures stories in a very authentic and photo journalistic way.
Doris has worked with numerous agencies, high profile vendors & designers and got publications in magazines & blogs like Glamour (UK), Perfect Wedding Magazine (USA), Brides (AT, DE & CH) and Aisle Perfect (USA).

FUNFACTS
The foundation of any collaboration and friendship starts with trust. And trust comes with getting to know a person.
So here are a few quick facts about me, what I like, what I dislike and who I am. That should help you get a better idea about my personality & interest.

CITIES
The bigger the better. From my home village to Linz, from Linz to London. From London to Vienna. I always love to explore new cities and be part of the urban jungle. NY, I cant wait to be back!

LIKES
Dogs. I Love them. But, I am still waiting to grow up fully in order to get my own. Minimalism. Empty walls, exposed concrete, straight lines. Coffee. (obviously) and all these artisan shops in London.

DISLIKES
Glasstables. Hate them! Can´t eat or sit around them. Rounded corners. An absolute no go. Either round or angular – there is no way a mix is working. Upside down bed sheets (They actually freak me out)

HOME
I am quite busy with moving from town flat to town flat, but my only true home is where I grew up – in the middle of Upper Austria´s country side. I love the mountains & and the wide, empty space.

MAGIC PLACE
The most beautiful thing I´ve ever seen was the night sky in the desert Sahara. It was just too beautiful. I did not even dare to take a picture.
